EA’s E3 press conference came and went, and was actually pretty uneventful. Maybe this had to do with the veritable butt-ton of sports games they brought? Either way, if you didn’t have the time to catch the conference, TGN Partner Moxness has got the scoop on TGN‘s Top 5 announcements from EA’s E3 press conference:

To be honest, EA’s press conference at E3 was largely uneventful, but that being said, there were still a few moments of excitement. And if you don’t want to sit through the hour and a half, don’t worry we’ve got you covered. I’m Moxness with TGN and today I’ve got the highlights from EA’s press conference.
EA Announcement 5
Like I stated earlier, EA’s time on the stage was largely uneventful, and that was mostly due to the fact that most of the games announced were 2016 editions of their sports franchises. So, if you were wondering if there would be a Fifa 16 or a Madden 16, well…it’s been confirmed.
EA Announcement 4
Star Wars: The Old Republic. Is anyone still playing this game? Well, If you are, Bioware has announced a new expansion for the game. They showed off the first cinematic trailer for this expansion, and it looked very good. I was even tempted to pick up this game again. The expansion is set to be released on October 27, and is free for The Old Republic subscribers.
EA Announcement 3
In more exciting news, we got see a game play trailer for Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, and it looks good. The game will be focusing on Faith’s origin story, and her quest to “open the eyes of an entire city”. It is set to feature an open world, with no levels and no loading screens. Players can free roam around the entire city, completing story missions, and optional side games, like timed runs. The game is set to be released on February 26, next year.
EA Announcement 2
We were all expecting to see more of Star Wars: Battlefront, and EA did not disappoint. We got to see 5 minutes of gameplay from the new game with ground battles, dogfights, and even some lightsaber action. EA also announced an alternative game mode to multiplayer called “Missions”. In this mode, you can play alone against the game AI or co-op with a friend. All in all, the game looks very good, and because of that, the lack of a story campaign feels very much like a missed opportunity.
EA Announcement 1
The most exciting thing out of EA’s conference was undoubtedly, Mass Effect 4, or rather Mass Effect: Andromeda. We got to see a brand new trailer for the the game, and even though it was more teaser than trailer, it still managed to keep me on the edge of my seat. Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to be released sometime during the holidays in 2016. Right now, all we know is that the story will not be following Commander Shepard, and that we will be exploring an all new galaxy. Well, let’s hope we get more details soon.
Those were 5 highlights from the EA’s press conference. Which announcement made you the most excited? Was there anything you were hoping to see? Let me know in the comments below, and, if you haven’t already, please subscribe to TGN. I’m Moxness and I’ll see you next time.
